I 'm looking forward to catch this show as i have read the book months ago... sad to say i have not completed reading. what i know from the first few chapters of the book is that a pretty girl, Chiyo, from an impoverished fishing family is taken to faraway and sold into slavery. She has to cultivate an image of herself as a desirable geisha in order to survive... many things just fall upon her.
